Fresh Del Monte Produce Names New Independent Board Member
CORAL GABLES, FL - There’s a new board member in Fresh Del Monte’s metaphorical town, and he goes by the name Charles E. Beard, Jr. This week, the fresh produce giant announced it is strengthening its leadership capabilities by appointing Beard as the company’s newest Independent Board Member.
As the Chief Operating Officer of global consulting firm Guidehouse, Beard knows a thing or two about some of the key areas Fresh Del Monte is looking to grow in—namely how to advise and lead teams in order to maximize the use of technology.
“I am eager to welcome Charles’s leadership to the team,” said Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “With deep experience in technology and a long trajectory in guiding Fortune 500 companies in both the public and private sectors, Charles will offer us key insights in digital innovation and business automation to better enable us to meet one of our five-year strategic objectives to become a technology-driven company and drive greater efficiencies in our key business operations.”
Prior to serving as CEO of Guidehouse, Beard amassed over 30 years of experience in technology management, business automation, cybersecurity risk management, and embedding advanced solutions into company operations, according to a press release.
Beard has also served as the Chief Information Officer at a global $11 billion SEC registrant. He was also a Global Head of Advisory Services for the transportation and industrial markets of a big-four accounting firm.
Beard holds a bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University, an MBA from the University of Montana, and a Master’s in Jurisprudence from the Seton Hall School of Law.
