Grocery Outlet Bargain Market Names Eric Lindberg as CEO, MacGregor Read as Vice Chairman
EMERYVILLE, CA - Grocery Outlet Bargain Market announced that its former Co-CEOs have been appointed to new positions. Eric Lindberg will take on the Chief Executive Officer role, while MacGregor Read will serve as Vice Chairman, effective January 1, 2019.
“I am excited to lead Grocery Outlet into the future and develop new opportunities for growth,” said Lindberg. “Grocery Outlet has a 68-year history of bringing extreme value to customers and building trusted partnerships with suppliers, and I look forward to building on our momentum and delivering value for our customers.”
In 1996, Lindberg first joined the Grocery Outlet team, beginning his tenure in operations and advancing through positions in retail marketing and procurement, according to a press release.
Read also joined the Grocery Outlet team in 1996, advancing through several internal positions including procurement, retail merchandising, real estate, and construction before being named Co-CEO with Lindberg in 2006.
“Our sourcing strategy and relationships with our suppliers are key business differentiators about which I am passionate,” Read said. “I am looking forward to focusing on strengthening and building new supplier opportunities and relationships to continue to bring extreme value to our customers and support our growth.”
In addition to Lindberg’s and Read’s new positions, Grocery Outlet also promoted two more executives on its leadership team.
RJ Sheedy, current Chief Merchandise, Marketing, and Strategy Officer, will assume the position of President, in which he will oversee purchasing, planning, marketing, strategy, IT, and supply chain. Sheedy first joined Grocery Outlet in 2012.
Pamela Burke, current Executive Vice President of Legal, HR and General Counsel, has been named Chief Administrative Officer, in which she will oversee legal, risk, internal audit, safety, and human resources. Burke first joined the retailer in 2015.
