Limoneira’s John Carter Details Programs and Promotions Retailers Can Look Forward to at Southern Exposure
SANTA PAULA, CA - The fresh squeeze of citrus brings a renewed vigor and an extra pep in my step, and I’m sure many consumers during this wintry season feel the same way. With sunny California citrus absorbing Mother Nature’s rays, Limoneira’s One World of Citrus™ team is eager to showcase its offerings down Southeast.
“We are excited to be participating in person once again at Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) Southern Exposure!” John Carter, Vice President of Sales, voices. “This year, we will be showcasing all of Limoneira’s One World of Citrus items including specialty citrus—Pink, Meyer, and Seedless lemons. We’ll also showcase our Cara Cara, Blood, and Minneola oranges.”
Specialty produce has seen an increase in shopper interest as of late, especially in the citrus category. Health awareness and adventurous home-cooks are seeking new and creative ways to incorporate fruits and veg. Many are still learning the wide, wide world of fresh produce and are unsure of what’s out there and how to use it.
Limoneira is encouraging this healthy and eclectic spirit is through its promotions and programs.
“The team is eager to meet customers face-to-face and discuss our current programs. It is also a great opportunity to look forward to the upcoming import season. It’s never too early to start planning,” John continues. “Additionally, the show is a great opportunity to get first-hand feedback on new packaging ideas.”
SEPC’s show comes at an opportune moment for the citrus team, as there is still plenty of time to continue promoting California citrus. Limoneira is looking to arm its retail partners for the season ahead to keep traffic going in the produce aisle.
“More than anything, we are looking forward to talking in person and sharing ideas on how to build demand with programs such as our The Produce Department is Nature’s Pharmacy™,” John shares. “Our free app shows shoppers how easy and inexpensive it can be to turn your produce aisles into a pharmacy by identifying fruits and vegetables that can then turn into healthy and delicious meals for their lifestyles.”
March 3 draws ever nearer; are you packed yet? Be sure to leave some room in your suitcase for all the innovations, connections, and more you’ll discover at Southern Exposure.
