Side Delights® Introduces New Holiday Recipes for Those Celebrating at Home

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - It has been said—and sung—that there is no place like home for the holidays. However, this year as the pandemic regulations are keeping people from roaming far from their homes, consumers are looking for new ways to prepare for the holiday season. Shoppers need look no further than Side Delights®, as the potato connoisseur is offering up easy solutions and recipes for those choosing to celebrate from the comfort of their own houses.

Kathleen Triou, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fresh Solutions Network“Usually about 25 percent of all fresh potatoes sell November through December,” said Kathleen Triou, President and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network. “But this season, many restaurant holiday meals will take place at home, and large family gatherings will turn into several smaller dinners, each with their own turkey and bowl of mashed potatoes. As a result, we expect holiday demand to increase nearly 30 percent more than a normal holiday season.”

As more people are reporting that they will forego travel this season to opt for a quainter at-home gathering, Side Delights is introducing new suggestions for consumers as they hit the grocery store in search of meal ideas. According to recent data, 58 percent of consumers are planning to stay at home this holiday season—9 percent more than last year. To help them, Side Delights created new recipes that it has unveiled on its website and social media pages.

Nearly one-third of U.S. adults have reported that they will continue cooking, with 43 percent of young Gen Z shoppers planning to incorporate more at-home meals as well.
