Sun Belle Launches 2021 Pomegranate Arils Program with Organic and Conventional Products
SCHILLER PARK, IL - Buyers, get ready to have your customers clamoring, as Sun Belle has debuted the launch of its 2021 Pomegranate Arils program. Consumers will now be able to enjoy the company’s delicious pomegranates without the hassle of dissecting the fruit. Sun Belle will be offering both its Green Belle organic and Sun Belle conventional arils in easy, on-the-go containers perfect for the produce aisle shelves.
“Pomegranates are among the world’s most ancient fruits, always sought after for their taste and beauty. The tiny red jewels are rich in vitamins C, K, B-6, and potassium. They are also high in antioxidants and fiber, but with a low-calorie count,” said Janice Honigberg, President. “Pomegranate arils are a delicious ready-to-eat snack for health-conscious consumers. Sun Belle is pleased to offer such superb quality products through the spring and summer months.”
The arils will be hitting retail in 4.4 oz cups that are packed by Agricola Los Medanos S.A. in Ica, Peru, according to a press release. Each aril is extracted from the pomegranates as they hit ripeness through a state-of-the-art process that uses technology, UV sanitation, and takes place in the company’s ultra-clean facility.
Sun Belle’s arils are immediately packed in retail cups with peel and reseal lids that feature a tamper proof outer ring seal, guaranteeing safe handling for consumers as food safety remains a top priority. Freshness and a longer shelf life are ensured through the company’s 24/7 cold chain logistics operations.
The pomegranate arils are of the Wonderful variety, and are certified by GlobalG.A.P., SMETA, GRASP, BRC Food, Kosher, USDA Organic, and HACCP. They will be available now through August for buyers to stock their shelves.
Strong demand for arils is expected by Sun Belle as the TikTok trend, #naturescereal, is gaining popularity among the platform’s millions of users. “Nature’s Cereal” is a recipe that combines pomegranate arils, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and sliced strawberries with coconut water as a healthy breakfast alternative. This has inspired viewers to add arils to their baskets, spurring new customers across the produce section and a new demographic of shoppers.
Retailers will be able to order the arils in flats of 12 x 4.4 oz resealable organic and conventional cups, and Sun Belle is distributing conventional arils in resealable 3 x 2 lb bags and 6 x 1 lb bags for food service, commissary, bakery, and salad bar operations.
As arils continue to take center-stage, ANUK will be here to share the latest launches from across the industry.
