CANADA - WINDSET FARMS® is proud to be providing local communities with fresh, nutritious produce year-round. With the incredible support of BC Hydro, Windset Farms have expanded our Delta greenhouse facility, utilizing LED lighting powered by renewable hydroelectric power.

This has allowed us to grow tomatoes and cucumbers sustainably no matter the season. With this expansion, we supply our partners with fresh produce, faster, reducing food miles and improving overall access to healthy food.

BC Premier David Eby recently visited a BC retailer to emphasize the importance of supporting local farmers and strengthening Canadian food security. During the announcement, he recognized Windset Farm's dedication to sustainable, year-round food production.

"Windset Farms' expansion is a prime example of how we can strengthen BC's food security, displace imports, and ensure our communities have access to high-quality, sustainably grown food," said Premier David Eby. With this in mind, we’ve introduced a "Proudly Grown in Canada" logo on all BC-grown products. In addition to our customer partnerships, Windset Farms has partnered with food banks across Canada and the U.S., providing weekly fresh produce donations to be distributed to those in need. We're committed to donating to these organizations every week of the year so they can rely on a steady supply of produce to help make a difference in our communities.

Windset recently hosted Food Banks Canada and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank to discuss food security in the region, among other things. The conversation highlighted the challenges food banks face in collecting and distributing perishable goods and the steps we can collectively take to ensure more people have reliable access to healthy food.

John Newell, co-owner and COO of Windset Farms says, "Being able to produce year-round from one region, close to these high population areas, enables us to show year-round support for food banks in our local communities. Having access to fresh produce is instrumental in a healthy, well-balanced diet, and we're grateful to partner with food banks across Canada and the USA to help us efficiently distribute our produce where it's needed.”

Windset Farms will be exhibiting at booth 1807 at this year's CPMA Convention & Trade Show in Montreal, April 8-10. As CPMA celebrates its 100th anniversary, we are excited to continue these important discussions, collaborate with industry leaders, and work together to enhance food security in Canada.
