FRESNO, CA - A key element of providing the world with healthy and high-quality fresh produce is a focus on food safety. As consumers, suppliers, and retailers alike keep this top of mind, the California Fresh Fruit Association (CFFA) pulled back the curtain on a tactical alliance with George Nikolich Consulting, which will focus on providing food safety services to the association’s members and their operations.

“The Association is excited to partner with George and brings a service to our membership that is of great need,” stated CFFA President Ian LeMay. “Our shippers and growers work tirelessly throughout the year to produce the freshest and healthiest fruits they can. Having George as a resource will allow them to continue to be proactive in bringing a safe product to markets and consumers' homes.”

George Nikolich is a long-time partner of CFFA, having served the fresh fruit industry for over 30 years.

As a focus on food safety has been a top priority for the association, as determined by its Executive Committee in 2019, this partnership presents the opportunity to engage with industry members in new and inventive ways.

“I look forward to continuing my support of CFFA goals in translating the latest food safety science and information into effective, practical application for members. Thank you all for your commitment to this project,” said George Nikolich, President.

As the association kicks off a new fiscal year, it revealed a series of scheduled roundtables and webinars, with more being added as the strategic alliance continues to grow. Through this joint venture, CFFA and George Nikolich Consulting look to bring new developments to the fresh fruit industry in terms of food safety.
