LOS ALAMITOS, CA - Successful merchandising combined with an excellent product has the power to popularize a new or unfamiliar item in the produce aisle. Frieda’s has learned this repeatedly with its lineup of specialty offerings, which will be displayed at the Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) Southern Exposure event. Of course, news of Frieda’s integration with Legacy Farms will also be top of mind.

Last fall, the 2022 Kitchn Essentials grocery edition awarded our Stokes Purple® sweet potatoes and Popjoys® kumquats with recognition as essential grocery items that have gained fanfare and become staples in consumers’ kitchens,” Alex Jackson, Vice President of Sales and Procurement, told me. “We also will be promoting our Quick Fires® Shishito seasoned side dish kits, Snow Dragons™, Honey Dragons® dragon fruit, and Tikis® young coconuts, among other branded items. We invite buyers to come to learn how our branded products are breaking through, speaking to consumers, and selling better than the competition.”

Alex continued, “The Frieda’s brand works harder for you in the store. We know our brand sells 30 percent faster than the next leading brand, and that 56 percent of shoppers say Frieda’s items are worth paying more for over the leading competitor, according to IRI total US-MULO 52 weeks and C+R research omnibus surveys. We want our retail partners to feel that success too, as we take pride in the pull our marketing initiatives have by educating the consumer on how to enjoy specialty produce.”

According to Alex, Frieda’s number one goal is to create a welcoming environment to connect with industry colleagues and clients. The team will inform current business partners and new connections on how Frieda’s Branded Produce works hard to increase basket rings in-store.
