SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Last month, GrubMarket announced its strategic acquisition of London Fruit. Now, the wholesaler is expanding its portfolio even further with the acquisition of Mendez International, a multi-generation family-owned wholesale distribution business.

Mendez International is a provider of high-quality tropical fruits, including plantains, bananas, avocados, limes, mangos, and taro sourced from its extensive network of producers. The company was founded by long-time Owner Felipe Mendez's father, who came to the United States from Cuba with a dream of building a thriving fresh produce business.

Today, the business occupies six units at the Hunts Point Produce Market in New York, a press release stated. The business will continue to be managed by its current experienced and mission-driven leadership team, who will continue providing customers with the highest quality tropical produce at affordable prices.
