McCain Foods Reveals Acquisition of Scelta Products; Max Koeune, Jos Koster, and Wilco Boone Detail
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA - McCain Foods is working toward providing more value to its portfolio with the acquisition of long-time partner Scelta Products. With this acquisition, McCain will be adding the Netherlands-based producer of frozen foods to its growing family of delicious, prepared vegetable appetizer product offerings.

Closed on September 8, 2022, the deal represents a significant investment that will fuel McCain’s growth and expansion in the frozen vegetable appetizer space. According to the release, McCain is continuing to look for opportunities to grow and invest with acquisitions that align with its business values and global leadership position.
Scelta Products, a provider in the industry for more than 22 years and a business partner of McCain’s for the past 13 years, is one of the latest in a series of investments and acquisitions McCain has made in recent years to expand its appetizer and snacking offerings.

According to the release, Scelta Products’ plant assets will be integrated into McCain’s product network, creating increased production capacity to accelerate global prepared appetizer growth throughout European and international markets.
As part of the acquisition, Scelta Mushrooms, Co-Founder of Scelta Products and the international route to market for more than 20 years, will solely focus on its mushroom business going forward.
