Pacific Northwest Farmers Discuss a Recent Visit From Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers; Stemilt's Brianna Shales Discusses
SPOKANE, WA - The delicious taste of a vibrant, juicy cherry is a direct reflection of the hard work that was put into growing it. Recently, Peirone Produce set out to highlight dedicated farmers throughout the Pacific Northwest with its Taste Local campaign. Gaining traction across the region, the campaign recently garnered the attention of Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who paid a visit to the supplier’s facilities to explore the company and meet a number of its employees.
Among the proud farmers featured in the campaign was Stemilt’s cherry expert Kyle Mathison, the fourth-generation grower behind the company’s A Half Mile Closer to the Moon® cherries and the Kyle’s Pick® cherry program.
"We are proud partners and suppliers to Peirone and their network of retailers in the Northwest. This year, we were excited to have fourth generation cherry farmer Kyle Mathison featured in their Taste Local program,” said Stemilt Marketing Director Brianna Shales. “It’s a great way to connect shoppers to their food, and I’m pleased to see it also connecting our representatives in the state with both service wholesalers like Peirone and family farming operations like Stemilt."
We here at ANUK are delighted to see hard working farmers get the recognition they deserve for bringing the most delicious fresh produce to consumers’ tables. Keep clicking back to read the latest news in the industry.
