Pacific Trellis Fruit Taps Jay Schneider; Josh Leichter Comments
LOS ANGELES, CA - It’s Friday’s Eve, and as if the eagerness for the upcoming weekend wasn’t enough to keep us going through the rest of the week, Pacific Trellis Fruit has added some more excitement to the mix by announcing its hiring of Jay Schneider as its East Coast – Head of Sales. In his new role, Schneider will be responsible for the sales team leadership of the company’s New Jersey sales office and driving business strategy.
“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to join the Pacific Trellis Fruit team to help grow the business and to get back full-time to my passion, the produce industry,” commented Schneider on his newest position.
Bringing almost 40 years of experience heading sales teams at Acme Stores, Albertsons, and Gorillas, Schneider is well-known as a produce industry leader. According to a release, his most recent role was Head of Buying for the online grocer, Gorillas.
Schneider started his career with Acme, where he spent over 38 years, a decade of which he was Produce Director. After the Acme/Safeway Eastern merger was complete, he became Director of Merchandising for the newly formed Mid-Atlantic region, supervising the entire store merchandising and sales strategy.
Chief Executive Officer Josh Leichter welcomed Schneider and shared his optimism for what he will bring to the Pacific Trellis team.
“We are excited to have been able to add an extremely talented individual like Jay to our team. He brings with him an unmatched enthusiasm and infectious energy for the produce industry, as well as an encyclopedic knowledge of retail buying, merchandising, and brand strategy,” said Leichter. “He will assist our team’s efforts and strategy to continue to elevate our business, as well as grow the Dulcinea brand with high-quality products targeting flavor and consumer satisfaction, all while providing first-class customer service. We are pleased to welcome Jay to our team.”
Best of luck to Jay Schneider as he steps into this new role!
