Progressive Produce's Keystone Fruit Marketing Shares Peach Update; Mike Blume Discusses
GREENCASTLE, PA - Something about the taste and texture of a sweet, juicy peach perfectly complements a warm, sunny day here in the Northern Hemisphere. Bringing a little bit of that quintessential spring and summertime flavor to the produce aisles, Keystone Fruit Marketing offers consumers mouth-watering peaches and retailers great merchandising opportunities.
“Keystone Fruit Marketing has been marketing and selling peaches since the early 1980s—we know peaches!” said Mike Blume, Vice President of Sales, in a release. “Keystone currently sells peaches from South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. We expect to get started with our Southern peaches in mid-May and go through early September.”
Currently, the supplier expects volumes to be limited at the start of the season due to cold weather this past March that affected all crops in the Southern growing regions, the press release explained. However, by mid-June, growers are optimistic that they will have a nice yield, meaning now is the optimal time for buyers to reach out to sales managers and plan their displays.
Among the pack sizes that Keystone is offering are 25 lb volume-filled cartons, 2 lb bags, and 2-layer trays. Additionally, the company has some specialty packs for select retailers.
Keystone sells peaches to retailers, wholesalers, and foodservice companies along the East Coast and into the Midwest. The supplier can generally deliver its peaches within a few days due to its efficient timing when it comes to picking, cooling, packing, shipping, and delivery.
Give your shoppers a little taste of sunshine with Keystone Fruit Marketing’s peaches and watch them keep coming back for more.
