Sara Neagu-Reed Joins International Fresh Produce Association's Government Relations Team



WASHINGTON, DC - As an advocate for the fresh produce industry, public policy is a vital part of the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) mission. Recently, the association announced that in a move to increase its effectiveness, Sara Neagu-Reed has been appointed to its Government Relations team as Director of Production and Environmental Policy, effective July 10.

According to a release, in that role, she handled a policy portfolio that included pest and diseases, immigration reform, crop protection, CEA, and Farm Bill programs.

Previously, Neagu-Reed has advocated for grower interests while working for the California Farm Bureau. She also worked in public service at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she was a Senior Legislative Analyst for organic and biotech programs.

“IFPA is pleased to announce that Sara Neagu-Reed will be joining our public policy team as Director of Production and Environmental Policy. Sara will lead policy issues related to production practices and the environment, including organics, floral, indoor, and contained environment agriculture (CEA),” the organization said in a statement.

She is a California native and a graduate of the University of San Francisco. Neagu-Reed is also a first-generation Romanian American.
