Albanian Border Patrol Uncovers More Than 11 Kilos of Cocaine Hidden in Banana Shipment at Port of Durres
ALBANIA - Recently, news came across our desks here at AndNowUKnow that authorities have once again used their investigative prowess to keep fresh produce from being used for illegal activities. Border Police in Albania were the ones who came to the rescue, uncovering approximately 11 kilograms and 650 grams of cocaine.
According to a report from Albanian Daily News, the illicit substance was found at the Port of Durres, concealed within a consignment of bananas. Scanners used by authorities revealed that the containers had undergone modifications at the base, where the drugs were later uncovered.
The alleged cocaine has since been seized by Border Police, and the person who was picking up the cargo was apprehended.
