Domex Superfresh Growers Launches This Year's Sweeten Up Your Summer Cherry Contest
YAKIMA, WA - We all know that, with summertime in full swing, cherry eating is on the brain for many consumers. Jumping on the opportunity to promote one of the season’s crowned jewels of produce is Domex Superfresh Growers®, with the Sweeten Up Your Summer sweepstakes back for the 2018 northwest cherry season. The contest runs from June 20-August 10, the peak of the region’s season.
Revving up the excitement for this season’s cherries, the company is using the hashtag #EatCherries, connecting Superfresh with social media communities and promoting its love for cherries and summertime fun. Drumming up excitement in the cherry category, the sweepstakes typically gets thousands of entries every year. To celebrate the entries, the company has $2,000 in gift card prizes and a $1,000 Grand Prize gift card to give away to winners.
“Summertime and cherries are an Instagram match made in heaven,” Communications Manager Catherine Gipe-Stewart said. “Instagram and social media have become outlets for showing off experiences ranging from travel and adventure, culinary creations, and the summer sports activities. Cherries are convenient to bring along and capture the moment to share on social. Entering the contest is easy, just grab your smart phone, pick up some fresh cherries, and snap away! Each unique post using the hashtag #eatcherries counts as an entry.”
Superfresh Growers has revamped its digital social content kit with new recipes this year, offering harvest photos, social media graphics, pre-written tweets, and other fun ways to engage with consumers, according to a press release. Retailers and wholesalers wanting more details on these opportunities can reach out to [email protected].
“Consumer-focused marketing promotions like our Sweeten Up Your Summer contest help us to create an active online dialogue with our consumers, generating excitement for the cherry category. This contest gives our team special insight on how consumers are interacting with cherries, and helps prepare our retail partners for the changing demands of the modern marketplace,” Gipe-Stewart shared. “Our retail partners have found our contest kits to be very useful in helping them accurately talk about our cherry varieties. The contest is designed to easily plug into a retailer’s social content calendar and workflow, saving their Social Media Manager’s time and resources. We can also create custom content based on the needs and goals of our retail partner.”
