STOCKTON, CA - All across the country, the COVID-19 vaccine is becoming more available with an increasing number of people receiving the shot. Helping to make the vaccine more accessible, Fresh Innovations California held a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in partnership with GKN Rx Pharmacy Inc at its headquarters in Stockton, California, on April 16. The clinic was open to all employees, their families, and their friends, and led to 100 people receiving their first dose.

“As an essential business we were fortunate to partner with GKN Rx Pharmacy to have a COVID vaccine clinic, giving our employees the opportunity to be vaccinated at their workplace,” said Imelda Fernandez, HR Generalist and Safety Administrator. “The process of scheduling this clinic was a breeze, and the staff was amazing to work with. The convenience of having this clinic on-site helped us vaccinate 100 people, including employees and their family and friends. It is important to us as an organization to do our part for the community during this pandemic.”

In encouragement of its workers getting the vaccine, all hourly employees were given two hours of additional pay, according to a press release. All associates and community members who participated in the clinic were given the Pfizer vaccine, and will receive their second shots on May 7.

Employee health and safety has been a top priority for Fresh Innovations over the past year, with the company requiring face masks for all associates and visitors in the facility, as well as temperature checks upon entering the gate. Social distancing guidelines have also been implemented, and plexiglass partitions were installed throughout the company’s breakrooms. Throughout the pandemic, there has also been increased cleaning in high traffic and touch areas.
