Man Finds Lost Wedding Ring Around Carrot
BAD MUENSTEREIFEL, GERMANY - A German man found a 24 karat surprise when he was plucking carrots out of his home garden.
The precocious carrot was not, in fact, popping the question for its cultivator, but actually giving him an unexpected gift. The 82-year-old man had lost his wedding ring many years previous to his gardening discovery.
While his wife had assured him the meaningful piece of jewelry would certainly turn up, he gave up on the chances of it resurfacing after about three years, according to United Kingdom news source Metro.
In a stranger turn of events, he was checking on his carrots earlier this month and beheld his wedding ring, wrapped like a strange collar around an even stranger carrot that–in this case–absolutely put beauty in flawed fresh produce.
Perhaps an even greater gift to this already extraordinary carrot story is that the ring finally reappeared just six months after the man’s wife passed away.
In regards to the find, he reportedly said it was true that sometimes “you reap what you sow.”
