Prophet Partners With Lone Star Citrus Growers to Implement Enterprise Resource Planning Software; Mick Heatherington and T.J. Flowers Comment
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA - Two branches within the produce family tree have become intertwined, as solutions provider Prophet has partnered with a Texas-based citrus grower. Lone Star Citrus Growers is utilizing Prophet’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to create a scalable, dynamic solution that will evolve and adapt during times of need.

Lone Star Citrus Growers typically runs about 1.8 million cartons of citrus each year, according to a press release. In 2018, the grower sought out Prophet’s help to increase business efficiency, better predict potential problems in its supply chain, and make a positive impact on its bottom line.
When Texas experienced a once-in-a-generation freeze in 2021 that led to a significant drop in citrus volume at about 20 percent of normal production, Prophet’s system supported Lone Star through this season of low crop volume.
“Prophet was an invaluable resource that gave us one less thing to worry about when faced with a devastating blow that disrupted business as we knew it,” said T.J. Flowers, Vice President of Operations and Sales at Lone Star. “We were able to survive the freeze by discovering other avenues of revenue that Prophet helped us maximize. The system’s dynamic ability to evolve with us during this difficult time allowed for the additional sales inventory and accounting of other commodities.”
