PHOENIX, AZ - Building on its strong presence in the retail sector by building out its C-suite, Sprouts Farmers Market has added a new member to its executive team. Effective March 21, 2022, Nicholas Konat will step in as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company, bringing years of leadership experience to oversee operations, marketing, merchandising, and innovation.

“I am honored to join Sprouts and look forward to working with the team as we continue to profitably grow by fulfilling our mission of providing healthy living options for less to more people,” said Konat. “Sprouts pioneered making healthy food affordable twenty years ago, and I hope to build on this foundation by serving our customers, making lasting positive changes to the company and improving access to fresh, natural, and organic foods as we expand across the country.”

Before joining Sprouts, Konat worked at Petco as Chief Merchandising Officer, a position he earned in 2018. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Private Brands and Merchandising and Senior Vice President-General Manager.

Previously, Konat also worked as Director of Food Merchandise Planning at Target after spending more than nine years with the retailer in a range of leadership positions across the food and fashion categories. He also spent six years with Accenture, a multinational professional services company.

In his new position, Konat will report directly to Jack Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer, a press release stated.
