Sun World International Enhances Leadership Team; David Marguleas Comments
BAKERSFIELD, CA - Deep backgrounds in marketing, finance, and IT are bringing new strengths to Sun World International’s leadership ring. The fresh produce provider recently pulled back the curtain on a trio of new hires, appointing Simon Heyrick as Chief Financial Officer, Jennifer (Jen) Sanchez as Vice President of Marketing, and Deepak Rama as IT Director.
Heyrick will now be responsible for leading strategic and day-to-day finance operations for the supplier. According to a press release, he brings extensive experience scaling fast-growing, disruptive companies and has managed both IPOs and strategic exits in senior finance roles.
For the past 15 years, he has held C-level roles at leading tech-driven legal, lifestyle, and finance organizations, serving stakeholders and operations worldwide.
Sanchez is now the VP of Marketing, leading the marketing team in developing and executing global consumer and trade marketing activities. In this role, she will work cross-functionally with licensees and the Sun World product development team to bring new varieties to the global marketplace.
Sanchez brings over two decades of experience to her role, previously holding central roles in marketing, sales, and category management for organizations like Driscoll’s, Church Brothers Farms, and Growers Express/Green Giant Fresh.
Last but not least, Rama has been named as the newest IT Director.
Rama leads the evolution of Sun World's data and information infrastructure strategy to integrate and enhance systems, resulting in stronger data intelligence and improved end-user experience, the release explained. An accomplished business leader known for his ability to deliver profitable, transformative change across organizations of all sizes, Rama brings a deep understanding of technology and innovation to the team. Rama’s LinkedIn notes he wields nearly a decade of experience in technical and engineering experience.
David Marguleas, Sun World’s President and Chief Executive Officer, commented on the trio of recent appointments.
