IFCO Completes Acquisition of PlasticPack; Michael Pooley and Eugenijus Michalauskas Comment



MUNICH, GERMANY - Kicking off this Thursday with excitement, IFCO announced that it will be entering the Baltic region through its acquisition of PlasticPack, a reusable plastic container (RPC) pooling service company based in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Currently, PlasticPack is a market leader in providing reusable packaging in the meat and dairy supply chains in Lithuania, a release explained. The acquisition of the company is a strategic piece of IFCO’s plan to become the leading provider of RPCs for the fresh grocery supply chain in the Baltic region, including Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

As part of the deal, PlasticPack will now expand its product portfolio beyond dairy and meat to include fruit and vegetable RPCs to growers and retailers. With this move, the company will become one of the first to offer foldable reusable packaging for produce in the Baltics.
