ORANGE, CA - Laying the groundwork for future success in the industry, Interfresh has unveiled several decisive moves to bolster its leadership ring. The produce partner recently announced it has named John Famini as Director of Sales at the company’s Los Angeles, California, distribution center, in addition to the appointment of Brian and Bryce Murai to its Los Angeles sales team.
“I am excited and proud to lead the team of seasoned produce sales professionals at the Interfresh Los Angeles Distribution Center, and look forward to supporting them in their continued growth and bringing them new opportunities for even greater success,” Famini said. “I feel my leadership and sales expertise will be a great fit for this role, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
Prior to this new role, Famini held the position of National Account Manager for Interfresh since 2018, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“We are excited to announce that John will be leading our sales team in Los Angeles. His passion and enthusiasm for the industry, along with decades of sales and management experience, make him a great fit for this role,” said President Chris Puentes. “We are excited to see where John leads our team in the coming months.”
In addition to the promotion of Famini, Interfresh also recently announced it has appointed the father and son team of Brian and Bryce Murai to its Los Angeles sales team.
Brian Murai is a third generation family farmer who brings over 40 years of fresh produce experience to the team at Interfresh.
“Interfresh has a unique combination of old school produce work ethic and new school produce ingenuity, creativity, and technology, along with a high level of honesty and integrity. Bryce and I are very happy to be a part of the team here,” said Brian.
He started working on the family farm as a young boy, and since then has garnered expertise in growing, buying, and sales. He received a bachelor’s degree in business economics from University of California Santa Barbara, in addition to a USDA/AMS grade standards certification, according to a press release.
His son, Bryce, is the fourth generation of the family to find themselves in the produce industry. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and food industry management from Cal Poly Pomona in 2020, and is now in his second year on the sales desk.
“I am glad to be part of the Interfresh team, and am looking forward to building a prominent career with a fantastic company,” Bryce said.
Puentes also weighed in on the appointment of this dynamic father-son duo.
“Brian and Bryce are a great fit for Interfresh. They bring to our sales team a combination of generational depth of experience and new and fresh ways of solving the daily challenges of the produce industry,” Puentes added. “They both have a great energy, and we are very pleased to have them on our team.”
