
Reports: March Weather Highlights and Regional Forecast for Rainfall and Temperatures
UNITED STATES - A recent report from Weather Mission summarized weather events through the California and Arizona valleys. Covering temperatures and rainfall throughout the month of March, the report then dives into the weather outlook for the remainder of April heading into May.
Coastal valleys experienced cooler-than-normal temperatures during March, mostly driven by cooler-than-average afternoon highs. Morning lows were mixed.
The San Joaquin Valley ran cooler than normal during March by about 1-2 degrees and cooler than the previous March by a similar amount. Yuma Valley was also a bit below average, while Phoenix was warmer by 1.5 degrees overall.

Rainfall along the Central Coast was mostly below average overall. Southern California rain was below average except for Oceanside and Ramona, which both received nearly double their normal rainfall for the month. Seasonal deficits persist for all but Salinas.
The San Joaquin Valley received above-average rain during March except for Sacramento and Stockton. Thermal and Yuma were also below average.
Weather Mission also provided temperature and rainfall forecasts for various regions across the United States.
The 3—4 week temperature outlook from April 19—May 2, 2025, predicts warmer than normal temperatures for the western half of the U.S. and Gulf Coastal states. For the Southeastern U.S., wetter than normal conditions are expected. Average rainfall patterns are expected along the West Coast.

The extended temperature outlook through June of this year shows a broad swatch of warmer-than-normal patterns expected for the southern half of the U.S. The rainfall outlook shows wetter-than-normal conditions over the Ohio Valley, with a large region of below-normal rainfall likely in the Southwest and Great Basin states.
