Measure to Improve Appoints Jennifer Norfolk as Vice President of Operations and Morganne Sigismonti as Program Associate; Nikki Cossio Comments
SALINAS, CA - Expanding its team and collective expertise, Measure to Improve (MTI) has added Jennifer Norfolk to its team as Vice President of Operations and Morganne Sigismonti as Program Associate. Together, the pair will increase the organization’s capabilities regarding sustainability solutions.
“I was immediately drawn to the high-quality, impactful work they are doing in the fresh produce sector,” said Norfolk. “There is so much need for the services they offer, and this impressive team is well-positioned to make a huge difference. I look forward to facilitating that growth.”
Norfolk comes to MTI from Winrock International, a global nonprofit organization focused on environmental sustainability and agricultural development, a release explained. There, she most recently held the Director role and led the Forestry and Natural Resource Management team and managed offices in Africa and Asia to implement USAID and Department of State-funded programs.
Before working at Winrock, Norfolk led similar teams at two other large nonprofits focused on international development and sustainability.
In her new role at MTI, Norfolk will lead staff to deliver high-quality sustainability programming while building the organization’s systems as it evolves. She will help find solutions that benefit clients and the planet while identifying broader policy and industry trends that position MTI to respond to changing client needs.
Sigismonti will be joining Norfolk as part of the MTI team this summer in her new position as Program Associate. She recently completed her Master of Environmental Science and Management at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Additionally, she is a TRUE Zero Waste Certified Advisor.
Stepping into her role at MTI, Sigismonti will support the organization’s zero waste and sustainable packaging programs and will guide clients as they work to accomplish TRUE Zero Waste certification.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Nikki Cossio commented on the appointments.
“I am very excited to be expanding our team,” she said. “These additions increase the scope of sustainability expertise at MTI, which will allow us to continue serving the produce industry, stay at the forefront of emerging client needs, and drive positive change.”
Congratulations to both leaders as they take over these new roles!
