Sweetgreen Launches in Charlotte, North Carolina; Jonathan Neman and Carrie Bradds Remark
CHARLOTTE, NC - Fast-casual restaurant chain Sweetgreen celebrated its North Carolina debut with the opening of its first location in Uptown Charlotte at One Independence Center, marking a key milestone in the brand's nationwide expansion. To celebrate its opening on September 30, Sweetgreen hosted a kickoff party featuring giveaways and special promotions.
“We’re so grateful for the warm welcome and excitement around Sweetgreen coming to North Carolina to join the Queen City,” shared Jonathan Neman, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “As we expand across the Carolinas, we're looking forward to teaming up with local partners in the Southeast to serve fresh, delicious meals to the community.”
The new Charlotte location spans 2,479 square feet and aligns with Sweetgreen's mission of prioritizing quality, sustainable ingredients. Its menu features salads, warm bowls, protein plates, and sides, including favorites like the Harvest Bowl and the Crispy Rice Bowl, as well as new offerings such as the Miso Glazed Salmon and Steakhouse Chopped.
According to a press release, Sweetgreen's launch coincided with the introduction of fall flavors, showcasing three limited-time menu items that include air-fried Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts. The new items feature locally sourced ingredients, such as goat cheese from Goat Lady Dairy and sweet potatoes from Randall Watkins of Watkins Farms.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Sweetgreen and bring our farm-fresh goat cheese to fans of their popular menu,” said Carrie Bradds, Owner of Goat Lady Dairy. “We can’t wait for the Charlotte community to enjoy the perfect pairing of our creamy goat cheese with Sweetgreen’s signature flavors.”
In addition to its culinary offerings, Sweetgreen is committed to giving back to the community by partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. For every meal purchased on opening day, the restaurant donated a meal to support those experiencing food insecurity in the region.
I don't know about you, but my mouth is watering just thinking about those Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts! Stay tuned to ANUK for the ongoing discussion on fresh-forward thinking.
