Apeel Sciences Welcomes Gordon Robertson as Its First Chief Revenue Officer
SANTA BARBARA, CA - This week, news broke that well-versed produce executive Gordon Robertson is joining Apeel Sciences’ team as the company’s first Chief Revenue Officer.
Robertson has over 30 years of produce industry experience under his belt, including brand strategy, sales, and operation expertise. Prior to joining Apeel, Robertson served as Executive Vice President of Sun World International, LLC, where he helped establish its brand and built a supply base for the label by working with growers and suppliers around the industry.
In his new role as Chief Revenue Officer, Robertson will lead Apeel’s strategic brand and sales team, bolster industry relations, establish the Apeel brand as the natural shelf-life extension solution for both conventional and organic produce, and help expand Apeel’s solutions to new produce categories in the U.S. and abroad.
In a statement, Apeel noted that Robertson is joining the company at a pivotal moment, as it recently validated the massive value creation of its plant-derived post-harvest products—including its avocado and citrus products—at retailers like Costco and Harps. Thus far, many of Apeel’s partners have reported a 65 percentage-point margin increase and a 10 percent on average lift in sales in the Hass avocado category, thanks to Apeel Sciences' product.
