Kroger Relocating Regional Headquarters to the Richmond Area From Roanoke
RICHMOND, VA - There are a few big names we report often enough that we barely have to glance at the location, and Kroger is definitely among them. I will be having to make some minor habitual adjustments, however, to mirror some major adjustments for the retailer’s Mid-Atlantic division.
Spanning more than 100 locations across Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio, the grocer is moving the headquarters of this operation to the Richmond, Virginia, area.
Spanning 26,000 square feet, the office is planned to be fully operational by the start of 2021.
Kroger did not report how many positions will be available at its new offices. Allison McGee, Corporate Affairs Manager for the Mid-Atlantic division, told news source Richmond Times-Dispatch the company is “... still finalizing our relocation plans.”
The division is currently headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia. 100 employees working in the divisional offices in Roanoke are being offered jobs with the company, including options to relocate to the new offices in the Richmond area, according to the news source.
Warehouse operations, logistics, and Kroger’s Roanoke district office will continue on in their current home despite the move of the main HQ. When asked about the move, the retailer stated the location is “better equipped and positioned” to serve and support stores in all of the division’s markets, and this will better complement the bolstered growth Kroger has implemented in the Richmond and Hampton Roads regions.
As we continue to look out for such moves, AndNowUKnow will ensure you are briefed on the latest.
