Produce Marketing Association Announces "Creating a More Diverse and Inclusive Membership" Virtual Town Hall Session
NEWARK, DE - As companies across the industry look to foster diversity and inclusion within their operations, the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) has offered a valuable resource. The association recently announced its upcoming Virtual Town Hall, “Creating a More Diverse and Inclusive Membership,” which will take place on Wednesday, August 11, at 12 p.m. EST.
The Virtual Town Hall will center around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. According to a recent release, the virtual event will also feature a conversation that will address the barriers facing women- and BIPOC-owned and operated companies, with a specific focus on access to the resources—such as capital, technical assistance, and more—necessary to compete in such an increasingly competitive industry.
During the discussion, PMA will also explore the challenges and what some organizations are doing to address them in order to create a more equitable and inclusive food system.
The panel will be moderated by Center for Growing Talent Executive Director Doug Bohr; and panelists will include Adrianna Campbell, Vice President of United Fresh Produce Assocation; Diane Mavica, Assistant Director of Vendor Management and Contracts, Stanford University; Jillian Schneeberger, Senior Director of Marketing, Programs, and Business Development at Women’s Business Enterprise National Council; and Eloris D. Speight, Director of SDFR Policy Research Center, Office of the President, Alcorn State University.
