Lori Castillo Shares NatureSweet®'s Plans for Canadian Produce Marketing Association's 2022 Trade Show
SAN ANTONIO, TX - Industry events are some of the most exciting times here at AndNowUKnow, and with the 2022 Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) Convention and Trade Show nearing on April 5–7, we are definitely feeling the hype. NatureSweet® will be among the fresh purveyors demonstrating their prowess on the show floor with a robust portfolio to show off to attendees.
“NatureSweet is the new single-source solution for greenhouse-grown vegetables, with the ability to now offer a wide range of products including mini cucumbers, long English cucumbers, mini peppers, bell peppers, beefsteak tomatoes, and tomatoes on the vine,” Lori Castillo, Vice President of Marketing, divulges. “At CPMA, we will be highlighting our complete snacking tomato portfolio, bell peppers, mini sweet peppers, LEC cucumbers, mini and baby snacking cucumbers, and amazing merchandising solutions.”
With several new additions coming to its portfolio this year, NatureSweet’s booth is one not to miss, as the expansion of its network is bringing forth new opportunities for its already vast lineup.
“We are excited to expand our network of greenhouses,” says Lori. “Our vertical integration strategy enables us to maintain control of our varieties, growing practices, and product quality. This will add a new dimension to our business development and help broaden our dedication to bringing the best-tasting vegetables to consumers. We have strong, loyal shoppers in Canada who seek out our brand by name. We want to provide them with additional product offerings and establish relationships with more retail customer outlets across all provinces for those consumers to find and enjoy our entire portfolio of greenhouse-grown products.”
Like many who will soon grace the trade show floor, one of the most anticipated aspects of the show is the opportunity to reunite in person with members from across the Canadian produce industry.
“We learned a lot through the pandemic,” Lori explains. “The good news from these virtual experiences was that meeting or event participation was no longer tied to a particular region. The fact is, in our business, meetings matter. Being back face-to-face with customers, wholesalers, and retailers provides a sense of connection that is difficult to replicate via video. That connection is what develops strong relationships, and we’re ready to get back into the swing of things!”
