Gold Coast Packing Spotlights Value-Added Retail Lineup Ahead of Viva Fresh Expo; Crystal Chavez Discusses
SANTA MARIA, CA - Ever the one to put the “show” in “showcase,” Gold Coast Packing is gearing up for this year’s Viva Fresh Expo, marking the first time the company will be attending and exhibiting. With the excitement palpable, I couldn’t wait to see what the company had in store, so I got a sneak peek from Crystal Chavez, Marketing Coordinator.
“We can’t wait to share our 2 lb and 12 oz value-added retail items that we just launched last year with Viva Fresh attendees,” Crystal imparts. “We will also be sampling our delicious, fresh Vegetable Ceviche and highlighting our chopped cilantro.”
Available in 6 x 2 lb and 9 x 12 oz pack sizes, Gold Coast’s value-added retail items come in a variety of options, including Broccoli Florets, Cauliflower Florets, a blend of Broccoli and Cauliflower Florets, Garden Blend (broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots), Brussels Sprouts, and Broccoli Slaw.
Adding to this already expansive lineup, the company’s Vegetable Ceviche, available in 2 x 26 oz packs, offers consumers a plant-based seafood alternative with a healthy portion of cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, cilantro, serrano peppers, onions, garlic, and of course, lime juice.
Not to mention it is keto-friendly, vegan, gluten-free, and has a 42-day shelf-life. What more could your shoppers ask for?
“Our Vegetable Ceviche has been a hit with consumers. Many are trying to eat more plant-based, and this item offers that with all the flavor and kick you expect from traditional ceviche, without the seafood,” says Crystal. “Our larger 2 lb retail items have also been popular with shoppers as they can add more vegetables to their daily meals while cutting down on trips to the grocery store. Not to mention they have a 16-day shelf-life.”
Rounding out its Viva Fresh showcase, Gold Coast will be spotlighting its chopped cilantro, which comes in a 2 x 12 oz foodservice pack. This flavor-packed offering gives foodservice operators the convenience and freshness they seek without breaking their bank.
“Gold Coast’s chopped cilantro is unique in that it has an extended shelf-life,” adds Crystal. “Sixteen days is nearly unheard of for chopped cilantro, but we made it happen. This item will excite operators and retailers as it saves time and money at the back of the house and can be easily added to a variety of menu items or salads and dishes at the deli counter.”
