Wegmans Food Markets Announces First Store Location on Long Island, New York
LAKE GROVE, NY - Shoppers on Long Island are in for a new shopping experience as Wegmans Food Markets has announced its first location in the region. Being built in Lake Grove, New York, the store will bring the retailer’s customer service, restaurant foods, and one-stop shopping experience to the area.
The grocer has entered an agreement to purchase 8.5 acres of the already existing 28-acre DSW plaza in the region, a press release stated. On the lot, Wegmans plans to build a 100,000-square-foot store location, although a timeline for construction has yet to be announced.
For potential employees in the area, Wegmans offers extensive benefits including competitive pay and benefits packages, premium pay on Sundays and holidays, tuition assistance, and flexible scheduling. The company is also committed to making a difference in its local communities through donations and events.
According to the release, the grocer has announced plans for additional stores in Virginia; Delaware; and Manhattan, New York, all scheduled to open over the next two years.
