OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA - Recent weather updates revealed that a line of intense thunderstorms has brought strong winds and rain across the Ottawa region of Ontario, Canada, this weekend, leaving severe impacts on the state.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, the storm came from the west side and hit the region with a heavy combination of rain and winds, leaving downed power lines and trees and battered neighborhoods in the area. Hydro Ottawa’s outage map as of 10:50 a.m. Sunday morning showed 580 outages affecting 176,678 customers, representing about half of its customer base, according to the source.

As power outages and other impacts of the storm’s destruction are being handled, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) announced that the CPMA office will be closed until roads are cleared and power is restored. Some of the organization’s staff are still without cellular reception.
