“Our celery season is winding down in Castroville, California, right now with big volumes,” said John Chobanian, Commodity Account Manager with Ocean Mist Farms. “The quality is excellent, and our supply is good with promotable volumes available that will remain plentiful over the next couple weeks to meet holiday demand. We’ll then transition to our southern growing region in Coachella, CA, by next month.”

John went on to note, celery is considered by chefs and home cooks alike to be a staple item for making flavorful stocks and sauces. Being in the ‘season of gathering,’ holidays bring about many traditions and festivities, which means a wide array of holiday meals and dishes will be meticulously prepared with love and adorn many tables over the next couple of months. As such, consumers will be keeping celery on hand over the holiday period, and Ocean Mist Farms has volumes to meet that demand.

“Our celery stalks and hearts are hand-harvested, trimmed in the fields, and packed directly into protective packaging. We offer celery in a 6, 24, 30, and 36ct naked; 24, 30, and 36ct sleeved pack; and celery hearts in a 12 and 18ct bag,” noted Chobanian.
