ROCHESTER, NY - Wegmans Food Markets announced the grand opening dates for its 2025 stores. Previously announced, the Lake Grove store on Long Island will kick off the year with an opening on Wednesday, February 26. The Rockville, Maryland, location will follow, welcoming customers on Wednesday, June 25. Rounding out the year, Wegmans’ first Connecticut location will debut in Norwalk on Wednesday, July 23. All stores will open at 9 a.m.

As grand opening preparations are underway, Wegmans’ new stores have hundreds of open positions to fill.

Rockville Begins Hiring for Full-Time Positions

According to a press release, the Rockville team is currently hiring and training for various entry-level management and full-time positions across all departments, including culinary roles and positions in perishable departments, such as seafood, produce, meat, and bakery. The new 80,000 square-foot store at 1590 Rockville Pike will employ approximately 400 people, with most being new hires from the local area.

“We are thrilled to become a part of this vibrant community,” said Rockville Store Manager Jamie Dominick. “Our hiring process is in full swing, and we are on the lookout for driven individuals who share our passion for people and food.”

Norwalk Continues Recruitment

Hiring for the Norwalk store is ongoing, with part- and full-time roles available throughout the store, ranging from customer service positions in merchandising, service, culinary, and perishable departments, to entry-level management roles.

“We’re looking for enthusiastic candidates to round out our team before opening day,” said Norwalk Store Manager Emily Gee. “We’re excited to begin the countdown to July 23 when we can welcome the Norwalk community through our doors.”
