BJ's Wholesale Club Opens First BJ's Market Concept Club in Warwick, Rhode Island; Bill Werner Comments
WARWICK, RI - Driving development across its store portfolio, BJ’s Wholesale Club has unveiled a new concept club. Known as BJ’s Market, the first-of-its-kind format will open in Warwick, Rhode Island, and will feature top-selling products for consumer convenience.
“BJ’s Market will serve as an exciting new innovation lab for BJ’s Wholesale Club,” said Bill Werner, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development. “We are bringing the same great savings and value our members know and love, but delivering a convenient location closer to home.”
The new BJ’s Market measures 43,000 square feet, about half the size of a normal BJ’s Club, a press release explained. In order to provide a convenient, efficient shopping experience for consumers, the format will offer top-selling fresh foods, produce, sundries, and seasonal products to members.
Through the BJ’s Market concept, the company will test exciting product assortments, displays, product demonstrations, and convenience initiatives. Shoppers will be able to find the same pack sizes and pricing as BJ’s Clubs in addition to services like curbside pick-up, Express Pay, and same-day delivery. Existing members will have full access to the market immediately.
