Fareway Names Several Officer Promotions; Reynolds W. Cramer Comments
BOONE, IA - When an executive promotion occurs within the rapidly evolving retail sector, you can bet ANUK will be jumping at the chance to share the news. Fareway recently made our day with the announcement of not one, but three strategic corporate promotions.
Aaron Irlbeck will be taking on the role of Senior Vice President – Campus Operations. Irlbeck began his career with Fareway in 1992 as a part-time employee before being promoted to Assistant Store Manager. In 2005, he stepped into a buying position in Fareway’s corporate office in Boone, Iowa. There, he held various management roles within the buying department before being promoted to Senior Vice President in 2018. In 2019, he was promoted to SVP of Digital Commerce, leading e-commerce sales and the online shopping team.
Next up on the list is John Cramer.
Taking the role of Vice President – E-Commerce Operations, Cramer’s career with Fareway goes back to 1990. In 2000, he stepped into the position of Assistant Grocery Manager, before becoming Grocery Manager at the Urbandale, Iowa, location in 2005.
In 2012, Cramer was named Corporate Supervisor. Since then, he has been involved in the development and launch of Fareway’s e-commerce program and was elected as Retail Vice President in February of 2021.
Chad Hickcox was also promoted, being named Regional Vice President.
Hickcox began his career with Fareway in 1991 as a carryout in Webster City, Iowa, a press release explained. He was promoted to Assistant Manager in 2000 at the Altoona, Iowa, location, and eventually gained the opportunity to be promoted to Store Manager of the Omaha West Fareway store. After nine years in Omaha, Hickcox was able to move into a Regional Supervisor role at Fareway.
Each of these new leaders have assumed their new titles effective immediately.

They contribute greatly to our core and expanding operations, and will be important to our continued success,” said Fareway Chief Executive Officer Reynolds W. Cramer. “We are excited to identify, foster, develop, and grow talent at Fareway; and Aaron, John, and Chad are three excellent examples of that.”
