Gold Coast Packing Hires Robb Bertels as New Vice President of Sales and Marketing; Gary Burk and Monica Cordero Comment
SANTA MARIA, CA - As the ANUK team was getting ready to wrap up yesterday afternoon, we were stopped by exciting news coming from Gold Coast Packing as the company announced a new leader. Stepping in as its new Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Robb Bertels will be using his more than three decades of industry expertise to help bolster company growth.
“One of the things that attracted me to Gold Coast is the company’s vertical integration in growing operations, processing, product development, and innovation,” said Bertels. “We have a great reputation as a high-service organization that really cares about its customers. One of ways we put that to the test is by creating custom blends, flavors, and configurations that help our customers adapt to changing market conditions.”
Bertels has spent more than 35 years in the produce industry, boosting the Gold Coast team with his background in business development, strategic sales, and marketing. According to a press release, prior to joining the supplier, he was Head of Marketing and Business Development at Sakata Seed America and has held roles at Amerifresh and Mission Produce throughout his tenure.
As Gold Coast extends its focus from primarily the foodservice side of the industry to the retail side, Bertels’ expertise will help the company succeed in the grocery sector.
“Robb’s knowledge and experience compliments our team well,” commented Gary Burk, Chief Operations Officer. “I, along with the rest of the Gold Coast family, have a great deal of confidence that Robb will be able to further the company’s vision of continuous innovation and exceptional customer service.”
Monica Cordero, Director of Sales, also added her enthusiasm for Bertels’ arrival at Gold Coast.
“We are excited to welcome Robb to our team!” she said, adding how Bertels’ diverse expertise across fresh produce operations will contribute to the Gold Coast vision. “His years of experience in the various sectors of the produce industry will help boost our company’s growth.”
Congratulations to Robb Bertels as he takes his new role at the helm of this crucial divison.
