West Pak Avocado Taps Stephen Sheldon as Director of Global Sourcing; Kellen Newhouse Comments
MURRIETA, CA - West Pak Avocado is on a clear path to impressive growth, as the company has just appointed a new leader to man the helm of its Sourcing Department. Fortifying one of its primary revenue sources and top profit centers, the avocado purveyor recently announced the naming of Stephen Sheldon as its new Director of Global Sourcing.
“I am excited to join the West Pak Avocado team,” said Sheldon. “West Pak has done a tremendous job growing the company and the category as well. I am looking forward to helping lead future growth alongside such a talented team.”
As he takes on the new role, Sheldon will lead and manage the strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of sourcing from global regions, including California, Mexico, and South America, according to a press release. As Director of Global Sourcing, Sheldon will work to foster, develop, and manage long-term relationships and partnerships with growers and farming corporations as West Pak continues to accelerate its growth plan.
Sheldon joins the company from Limoneira, where he held the position of Global Sourcing Manager from 2018 through 2021, as well as Business Development Manager from 2013 to 2018. He obtained a Master of Business Administration in Global Management with a concentration in marketing from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University, in addition to serving in the United States Peace Corps as an Agricultural Business Volunteer in Bolivia.

Sheldon will optimize this expertise to serve as the ultimate decision-maker for all sourcing pricing structures and final grower returns, payouts, and imported vessel liquidations for West Pak’s entire avocado supply. Sheldon is also tasked with implementing, communicating, managing, and evaluating daily procurement pricing in coordination with market trends, competition, and sales demand for each country of origin. In this new role, he will report to Newhouse.
