Ahold Delhaize Appoints Alex Holt as Chief Sustainability Officer; Frans Muller Shares
ZAANDAM, THE NETHERLANDS - New Chief alert! Effective no later than June 1, Ahold Delhaize is welcoming Alex Holt as Chief Sustainability Officer and a member of its Executive Committee.

Holt currently serves as Chief Sustainability Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Woolworths Group, a role she has held since June 2021. According to a press release, the expert has held a number of roles across Woolworths’ supermarket business, leading various commercial teams before becoming General Manager of Sustainability, Health, and Quality in April 2016. She joined the company in 2011 from Tesco, where she spent seven years in various roles in business improvement, merchandising, and sourcing.
In this new role, Holt succeeds Jan Ernst de Groot, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer, who will retire on May 31, 2024.

As CSO, Holt will be responsible for driving the vision and strategy on sustainability in line with Ahold’s Group strategy and accelerating focus and collaboration across the organization and its supply chain. She will use her experience to build and develop sustainability capabilities and mindsets across its brands and support organizations, in addition to providing thought leadership, expertise, and support to the retailer’s executive team and brands.
As previously announced, Linn Evans will assume Ahold Delhaize’s Chief Legal Officer role on April 15, 2024.
