DMA Solutions' Dan'l Mackey Almy Discusses Aggies for Fresh
AUSTIN, TX - Though the Viva Fresh Produce Expo seems like a distant memory to many of those of us already gearing up for the next big marketing event, the achievements of the Texas-focused show are still resonating with the industry at large.
One of my personal favorite aspects of the Austin show floor this year was seeing the pervasiveness of DMA Solutions' Aggies for Fresh program, and you could barely step 3 feet down an aisle without seeing one of the ten students from Texas A&M University that were vying for industry knowledge, mentorship, and of course, produce jobs!
In the spirit of learning more on what we as industry members can do to continue to grown the Aggies for Fresh program, I had to catch up with DMA Solutions President and CEO Dan’t Mackey Almy on the floor.
“We’re an industry that’s growing, and we need an influx of talent to be able to accommodate the opportunity that we have in this industry,” Dan’l explained to me as we discussed why a program like Aggies for Fresh is so important. “The other thing that I believe we are gaining from this is that this generation has a different perspective than a lot of us in the industry, and I think it’s making us better.”
