Frieda's Branded Produce Earns Four Honors in the 2022 Kitchn Essentials; Cindy Sherman and Amanda Marikar Discuss
LOS ALAMITOS, CA - Specialty produce inspires me to get creative in the kitchen, and I think we could all use a little inspiration these days. As such, it was fitting that the 2022 grocery edition of Kitchn Essentials awarded Frieda’s Branded Produce with four different honors. The consumer engagement platform provides inspiration to its audience, and Frieda’s products have gained particular fan-fare.
“Being recognized with four awards is the proof point that our new branding is breaking through and speaking to consumers,” says Cindy Sherman, Senior Director of Marketing, Insights, and Innovation at Frieda’s.
As a press release noted, a recent study showed that 56 percent of those surveyed said they were more likely to buy Frieda’s versus the leading specialty competitor.
Kitchn receives over 439 million monthly impressions across its website, email campaigns, and social media channels. The Frieda’s items that were selected within the produce category include Stokes Purple® sweet potatoes, Popjoys® kumquats, and Rambas® Rambutans.
“If you can get your hands on a fresh rambutan, I’d highly recommend it,” says Kitchn Contributor Amanda Marikar. Rambas’ new branding pops on the shelf and creates an opportunity to shake things up in the tropicals category, as 73 percent of shoppers are reportedly searching for produce variety.
In the plant-based category, Frieda’s Soyrizo™ took home an award. Of the 16 plant-based Kitchen honorees, Soyrizo was the only sausage alternative on the list.
“The Kitchn inspires better, healthier, and more delicious eating for the consumers who follow them, so to be recognized for our products that do the same fills our hearts in every way," adds Sherman.
Congratulations to Frieda’s on these impressive honors!
