WENATCHEE, WA - An apple a day keeps the doctor away. And a sustainable apple box keeps consumers well fed throughout the week while also keeping Mother Nature happy. Starr Ranch Growers recently unveiled its latest sustainable box and pouch bags, and I’m sure every doctor would recommend it to all retailers.

“Our sustainable box replaces the clamshell, so it replaces plastic 100 percent,” said Krista Beckstead, Marketing and Brand Specialist. “We are packing our organic varieties into it; the Fuji variety is available now and in stores. We’re trying to broaden out with all of our organic varieties in the future.”

Krista further explained the new sustainable boxes are easier to pack and palletize, allowing retailers to display the delicious apples in all their glory in the produce aisle.

Each box comes with a tray on the bottom to keep the apples secure, protecting the precious cargo during transportation.

Starr Ranch also released new packaging for its pouch bag line. According to Krista, the new pouches come with 25 percent less plastic and feature a paper backing.

Let’s not forget the new emoji bags, recently launched in partnership with the emoji^® company! Starr Ranch’s pouch bags for kids will feature the ubiquitous yellow emojis on its licensed apples, pears, and cherries.
