Women's Fresh Perspectives Conference to Screen Fear No Fruit Documentary
LOS ALAMITOS, CA – Entrepreneurial pioneer and female founder, Frieda Caplan, of Frieda’s Specialty Produce, will have some well-placed screen time at the upcoming Women’s Fresh Perspectives (WFM) Conference in San Diego, CA.
A screening of the Caplan-centered documentary Fear No Fruit is slated to be shown on April 18 in an optional evening session. Hosted annually by the Produce Marketing Association, WFM focuses on providing leadership development for women in the industry.
“My grandmother Frieda has been my inspiration throughout my life, and we are grateful for the privilege to share her life and business success story with hundreds of women in the produce industry,” said Alex Jackson, Co-Chair of the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Committee and a Senior Account Manager at Frieda’s Specialty Produce, in a press release.
As we previously reported, Fear No Fruit, directed by Mark Brian Smith, narrates the trailblazing life of Dr. Frieda Rapoport Caplan, as one of the first woman entrepreneurs on the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market and founder of Frieda’s Specialty Produce. The documentary also features notable industry women such as Tonya Antle of Tanimura & Antle, and California chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken.
Frieda’s said that it believes the documentary and Caplan’s story will inspire a new wave of floral and produce industry women. “We believe this year’s conference program will truly inspire attendees,” finished Jackson.
