Amazon Fresh Expands to 130 Cities in India; Srikant Sree Ram Comments
INDIA - Amazon is strengthening the presence of its grocery delivery arm Amazon Fresh in India, announcing a recent decision to expand this service to 130 cities. Introducing a variety of locations across Ambala, Aurangabad, Hoshiarpur, Dharwad, Una, Suri, and more, the retailer is more than doubling its retail presence in the Indian market.
“Our expansion and focus on quality products demonstrate our commitment to serve customers and offer them the best online shopping experience for fresh produce and daily essentials,” said Amazon Fresh Director Srikant Sree Ram. “Further, customers can avail benefits from cashback, offers, and bank discounts, adding value to their every purchase.”
This expansion into 130 cities drastically bolsters Amazon’s market presence, which spanned approximately 50 Indian cities last year. As Inc 42 reported, Amazon Fresh has gained traction with consumers with the in-app launch of multiple thematic stores and events like mango store, summer store, and more, as well as personalized widgets and saved preferences.
Amazon Fresh delivers fresh groceries to consumers, including fresh fruits and vegetables and other chilled products, sourcing its assortment from over 11,000 farmers. The retailer undertakes a four-step quality check to ensure the consistently high quality of its produce.
