National Mango Board Quiz Quix Winners Announced: Betty Tomao and Mike Vesely
SACRAMENTO, CA - Several industry players entered the ring, but who came out in top in the recent National Mango Board (NMB) Quiz Quix? We saw tight competition on both the supply- and buy-sides, and ultimately named Mike Vesely, Senior Customer Manager - Pineapples of Chiquta, and Betty Tomao, Fresh Buyer in the Produce Department - Supply Chain of The Save Mart Companies, as the winners of our $100 prize.
We were delighted to hear from Mike, our supply-side winner, on how ANUK’s quizzes foster friendly competition, and why this round with NMB was of particular interest.
“I always look forward to the ANUK quizzes coming out. I know several of the other folks who have won, and always love to compete with them. Even if we don’t win the prize, we still have bragging rights over each other,” he told us. “When I was on the buy-side, I worked a lot with the organization’s Produce Consultant, Tim Beerup, and the rest of the fine folks at NMB, so this quiz had an added incentive.”
Betty also appeared in our inboxes, giving us a look at her experience of the quiz and how it sharpened her buy-side edge.
“I love participating in the quizzes. The knowledge and information gained helps me continue to learn about different commodities within the produce industry,” said Betty. “I look forward to the next quiz!”
