TUSTIN, CA - The warm weather certainly calls for a day out on the golf course! On Tuesday, July 18, members of the fresh produce industry got together for the sold-out 31st annual golf tournament hosted by the Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC). As produce aficionados gathered for a full day of golfing, food, and fun, FPFC Chair Michael Schutt and tournament Chair Adam Laliberte auctioned off over $10,000 in cash and gift cards for raffle prizes and recognized the winning teams.

At the Tustin Ranch Golf Club in Tustin, California, players enjoyed an 18-hole course, with breakfast provided by Taqueria de Anda and lunch by Messi Burger. The day of golfing concluded with a happy hour bar and tacos while the $10,000 contribution was presented.

According to a press release, Closest to Pin winners were Steven Alvarez (WJL Distributors), Daniel Bell (Grocery Outlet), Roger Yang (Jetro Restaurant Depot); the Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive winners were Sandra Veltri (Empire Marketing Strategies) and Sam Orue (WJL Distributors).

Coming in first place was WJL Distributors’ team, Todd Butler, Steven Alvarez, Tracy Ellis, and Shonna Williams of Cardenas Markets; Second Place Team was Fidelity Melon Mihae Finnie, Darrin Wadman, Quinton Saum (Sunrise Produce), and Tim Graves; Third Place Team was WJL Distributors Adam Laliberte, Bill Laliberte, Jacob Cadwallader of Stater Bros. Markets, and Sam Orue.
