Mann Packing Completes Integration as Fresh Del Monte Produce's Vegetable Division; Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh Comments
SALINAS, CA & CORAL GABLES, FL - Back in 2018, AndNowUKnow reported that Fresh Del Monte Produce had acquired Mann Packing Company. Now, the two companies have announced the final stages of the transition are taking place and Mann Packing has been integrated as the vegetable division of the company.
“We have big plans for Mann Packing, and this is just the beginning,” said Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Fresh Del Monte Produce’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “By bringing Mann Packing completely into the Fresh Del Monte umbrella, we are not only able to expand our reach to more consumers, but we’re also able to further leverage the robust infrastructure we’ve built over our 135-year history at Fresh Del Monte—whether it’s our smart farming technology, innovation labs, or comprehensive logistics network. Mann Packing and Fresh Del Monte are now synonymous and have access to the same resources.”
The final step of the integration includes the fusion of all teams including sales, sales support, finance, logistics, sustainability and quality control, marketing, and innovation, a release stated.
Alongside Abu-Ghazaleh, the following executives help guide this new era for Mann Packing: Mohammed Abbas, Fresh Del Monte’s Chief Operating Officer; Jesus Rodriguez, Senior Vice President, North America Sales, Marketing and Product Management; and Sevag Zaroukian, Vice President Operations of Mann Packing.
With the completion of this final step, Mann Packing will have full access to all of Fresh Del Monte’s resources such as its robust logistics network that includes Network Shipping, a third-party shipping network that transports goods across the globe using the 13 company-owned vessels, and Tricont Trucking and Tricont Logistics, which utilize the company’s ships, ports, and temperature-controlled warehouses strategically located throughout 34 facilities in North America.
Mann Packing has five facilities across California, including Its newest state-of-the-art facility in Gonzales, which opened in 2021 and handles both fruits and vegetables, with full-fledged automation. As part of the integration, Fresh Del Monte is now selling fresh-cut produce out of this facility.
