Southeast Produce Council Announces Fresh Chefs Scholarship Recipients; David Sherrod and Stanley Trout Discuss

MILLEN, GA - Ever working to advance the next generation of industry leaders, the Southeast Produce Council (SEPC) has announced the recipients of its SEPC Fresh Chefs scholarship, its newest scholarship program. They include Mya Campbell, Kristin Feliciano, and Rebecca Martinez.

By awarding these future chefs with much-needed scholarship funds, we hope to promote the benefits of adding more produce to our diets for future generations,” said David Sherrod, SEPC President and Chief Executive Officer. “We want to congratulate them on their hard work and wish them continued success.”

Each recipient will receive $1,500 toward their educational pursuits in the upcoming year, a release explained. Additionally, they will be invited to SEPC’s Southern Innovations Conference and Expo being held September 22–24, 2022.

SEPC will cover the cost of hotels and travel to the event and will also provide an SEPC Fresh Chefs jacket for each recipient. At Southern Innovations, the recipients will be able to network with produce growers and shippers as well as some of the nation’s leading retailers and foodservice distributors.

This new scholarship program is open annually to any full-time college or secondary education student pursuing a degree in culinary arts or restaurant management.
