Frieda's Specialty Produce to Feature Yellow Pitahaya and Purple Power Breakfast Bowl at Upcoming PMA Foodservice
LOS ALAMITOS, CA – With PMA Foodservice just around the corner, Frieda’s Specialty Produce has announced it will be showcasing both the yellow pitahaya (or, yellow dragonfruit), and the Purple Power Breakfast Bowl at the event.
“Most people think of Frieda’s solely as a retail-focused brand, but we also do significant business with foodservice distributors and chefs across the country,” said Karen Caplan, President and CEO of Frieda’s. “So we thought it was time to participate at the foodservice conference. The specialty produce category is where it’s at and our knowledgeable team can hardly wait to share and sample the latest trends in fresh produce.”
The company plans to highlight its newest specialty arrival, the yellow pitahaya from Israel, at its booth, according to a press release.
Additionally, the Purple Power Breakfast Bowl has been nominated as a finalist for the PMA Foodservice's Sensory Experience Contest. The consumer-loved recipe highlights not only the company’s fan-favorite sweet potatoes, but pomegranate arils as well.
The recipe was selected as a finalist for the competition based on the following criteria:
- Appearance
- Ease of replication
- Produce centricity
- Innovation
“As the team leader for our foodservice business, I’m excited to invite everyone to stop by our booth 426,” said Jeff Kelly, Frieda’s Sales Manager. “Attendees will be impressed with what Frieda’s hasto offer in the areas of ideation, innovation, and inspiration.”
